WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY
People came all the way from CT and Long Island and Poughkeepise. We are working hard to gather people in various areas, you can see how people are dedicated and committed.
An entire family came from Hillside avenue and I dropped them in the night.
We will be doing more meetings in various places making sure there is enough majority and things workout
PLEASE FORGIVE US FOR YOUR INABILITY TO ATTEND.
You are most welcome to arrange for a meeting at the flushing temple. I will join as I live closeby, so will a lot of people. Let me know if you want to volunteer and I will help support.
IV is you and me and people like us, so if you plan to do something in Flushing, let me know, even if we get 20 people in Queens it is a good start.
Let me know. Thanks

Did you call this number: (800) 375 5283? The lady I spoke to did not give me any information. I guess I have to keep trying. BTW are you SRC or LIN ?
Thanks!
Yes I called the same number and used the POJ method as mentioned in this thread. Mine is SRC though.

The way i see it, they've asked for past emp letter with tax forms and some w2s.
None of those would indicate that you were on the bench.
The emp letter should basically just indicate your dates for employment - start/end date, designation, duties and perhaps salary. that's all.
Yes, they asked just employment letters, W2's and tax returns. Thank you.

You mean extend DL when you have H1 Extension approval notice...?
I agree with you. PenDot does not give online extension for non-immigrants. Also they extend visa for H1 only after you get extension letter in hand. They do not accept receipt notice.

I thought i wouldn't marry till i get ma GC coz i didn't wanna gal to come n rot here without a job being on H4.
but now i've gotten so freakin old waitin for the GC n still waitin that i might not get a gal to marry.
If you marry a girl after geting greencard you have to wait 5 years to bring her to US. So better yet, marry after you get citizenship :D which might be when you are ready to collect your social security

If USCIS works round the clock, working all 200 days of an year, atleast giving green card every day for 100 applicants then from now 3 to 4 years is really optimistic and certainly possible . But I'll say better for to says atleast 5 years from now.

What do you mean "heart, mind, soul, ethics were sold"? How do you know that? Just because someone called the U.S president "his president" does not mean he/she sold anything, let alone someone's soul and ethics. That is their right to call the U.S president his or hers.
What you said is totally uncalled for. If you are so patriotic, why are you applying for a green card and going by your own words, doesn't that mean you sold your ethics, heart, mind and soul too?
Are you kidding us? I do not know what level of education you have achieved so far in your life but it looks like you are not enough educated to differentiate between the definitions of permanent residency, citizenship and perhaps working on work visa as far as legal stay in USA by outsider is concerned.
What would be the "legal" reply from US Supreme court,if you ask US supreme court that whether citizen of other country can call US president a "My president"? . And What would be the "legal" reply from Supreme court of country A,if you ask that whether citizen of country A can call US president a "his/her president"?
USA expects someone to abide by the land of the law while s/he come to US to work legally. And what is expected legally is one is not involved in "Anti USA" activity whatsoever it may be.USA legally never expects citizen of other country "to love" or "show fidelity" towards USA when s/he is still the citizen of other country.
PavanV is right in his argument, in a sense, that when some person is citizen of country A at this moment his/her fidelity naturally must be for his/her country A. This is the legally expected human behaviour in every society and country. It would have been perfectly o.k. and "legal" about rsharma's statement if he would have already been US citizen at the time when he stated what he stated.
Such ridiculous, unnatural, premature, unethical and spineless behaviour can only be shown by the people who are already morally sold.
First of all when somebody comes here in USA on work visa, s/he has come on invitation from USA base legal employer's willingness and is ethically, legally and morally obligated to provide professional class and quality of work for what s/he is hired. Nothing more or less is legally expected by USA and employment system within USA. USA and its whole society is well aware that these persons are citizen of other countries and so they never expects any kind of fidelity from them at least "legally" and at the same time they even do not grant the rights what US citizen nornmally have. Now out of that bunch many people prefer to go for permanent residency as permanent residency bring little bit stability in living and flexibility in employment and international travel. If one becomes a permanent resident of USA then also USA still only expects that person abide by the law of the land and do not involve in "anti USA" activity. It still does not expect "fidelity" towards USA in legal sense. There is no legal or social or political or any kind of pressure from USA or any governmental or non governmental institutes within USA on any particular person coming from other country to become its citizen. One can stay on permanent residency forever till death(At least based on current prevalent law) and legally work and s/he does not have to become a citizen for working legally. And I do not know about other countries but in India it is not considered "illegal" and/or "unpatriotic" to go in other country(Except Pakistan and Bangladesh) for legal work so coming to USA for legal work whether on work visa or becoming a permanent resident in USA while maintaining Indian citizenship simultaneously is not unpatriotic or illegal. Simultaneously USA's legal system allows an Indian to remain as citizen of India while residing in USA permanently for legal work.
Now if somebody decides to become a US citizen, there is nothing wrong in that. I do not see anything wrong when rsharma states that "I have decided to become US citizen in future". But if he is mature and human enough then his fidelity at this moment should be towards India (Assuming he is a citizen of India currently) as he is a citizen of India at this moment. Showing this kind of behaviour perhaps may not be a outright unpatriotic in terms of "Indianness" but it certanily signals probable but strong disloyality towards India.
And I do not think that USA citizens are that naive that they consider the people "not mingled" if citizen of other country do not call USA president a "My president" while holding the citizenship of other country.
If calling US president a "My President" by non citizens would be the barometer of "mixing" / "mingling" then USA would not be today's USA. So please do not kid USA and us .

May your online MBA make you so powerful that you can compete with all the top of the line MBAs.
I will, combined with my existing degree and years of experience.
But if you think you are the example of top line MBA, I do not think I have a competition . I do not compete with immatured people who
1) Keep changing their word every time they open their mouth
2) Open their mouth without knowing what they are talking
3) Can stoop to any low to achieve something as minor as GC

It cannot be people vs terriblething. It could be state/federal agency v. terriblething. I agree that credibility of the complaint can be easily attacked if wife gives contradicting statement.
terriblething, you may want to read this

YOu are right, it would be "STATE" Vs terriblething. I wonder, why the neighbour gave "false" statement of hearing "help!...."?
Terriblething, looks like you were not in good terms with your neighbours or must have pissed them off in one way or other.

the reason it will never work is not the lawyers. the immig lawyers for the most part are honest people.
the problem is the employers. employee's loss is employer's gain. it is simple enough. if the point based immigrant is allowed in with a EAD or a green card (like in canada/australia), the employers lose out big time.
The only reason h1 exists is because employers want cheap labour. That is why they want more h1s. Because h1s are justified from business point of view, that is why it is illegal to charge the employee for the h1 costs.
But they never talk about how the h1s get screwed.
Because the h1s are screwed by them.
no matter what , H1 are for employers for them to be competitive, how come all of a sudden employers are talking about illigal immigrants these days, because they have found out that they can get them at a very cheaper rates, the moment you try to put wage garuntee in any of the immigration bills, this what kenndy wants, republicans run by big business are not longer interested in the immigration. perfect example of modern day enslavery. if they make 400K H1B's as per the strive ACT, Green card will lose much of its significance, because most employers will find easy to hire H1B raher than paying 20% or 30% higher to somebody on green card, that is the reason employers are after H1B.
thanks

As per 2006 and 2007 CIR, only illegal immigrants get green card easy. Legals like us - it will become even more difficult. read the text of previous CIRs and new CIR will not be different. Below is the text, it clearly excludes legals from legalization. Hope I would have been daring enough to be illegal. Definately, illegals are the vote banks and they get all the attention.
TEXT:
SEC. 245B. ACCESS TO EARNED ADJUSTMENT.
`(a) Adjustment of Status-
`(1) PRINCIPAL ALIENS- Notwithstanding any other provision of law, including section 244(h) of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall adjust to the status of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, an alien who satisfies the following requirements:
`(A) APPLICATION- The alien shall file an application establishing eligibility for adjustment of status and pay the fine required under subsection (m) and any additional amounts owed under that subsection.
`(B) CONTINUOUS PHYSICAL PRESENCE-
`(i) IN GENERAL- The alien shall establish that the alien--
`(I) was physically present in the United States on or before the date that is 5 years before April 5, 2006;
`(II) was not legally present in the United States on April 5, 2006, under any classification set forth in section 101(a)(15); and
`(III) did not depart from the United States during the 5-year period ending on April 5, 2006, except for brief, casual, and innocent departures.
`(ii) LEGALLY PRESENT- For purposes of this subparagraph, an alien who has violated any conditions of his or her visa shall be considered not to be legally present in the United States.
..................legals dont earn legalization. In other parts of bill, legal immigrants have to go thru even more rigrous LC processes but illegals have to do nothing. So, all those excited about Obama and CIR, cool down.
Legals do not need to be legalized. They are already legal. Legals need to be permanentized. (I like this new word)
You have not read the entire bill and fully understood it. You are just picking up a small portion and making judgment.

How about tourist visa? you can get multiple entry for 10 years, but I guess no of months you can stay in India is a question. I am applying for my son too, both of us hold Indian passport, what you guys suggest? go for OCI?
RK
I think, to be eligible for OCI, at least one parent should be US citizen.
