IV core team did an outstanding job for achieving this.
I really appreciate their efforts.
This is a big success for us. As a small token of appreciation, I am donation 100 dollars now.
Once we cross Aug 17, IV should seriously think of how to resolve the backlogs of I-485 and also should think of new people who need to file I-485.
I appreciate the goals of IV and I extent my continous support for IV in getting the goals achieved.

Let me guess, you have been brain washed by some jerk who claims that he is GOD. So you see things around you through the prizm of that jerk, and you think that the purpose of creating a good idea is to shoot it down.
Allow me to share some common sense, which is always tough. Every idea has its time and place. Every good idea also has its time and place. Out of time and out of place idea is as good as hurting yourself. So while you sit in your rabbit hole listening to your GOD, wanting to work on the removal of per-country limits, just open your eyes and see that the world around you is much more beautiful if you don't see it with the prizm of some jerk. I honestly do not understand why you seem to be opposed to this approach to alleviate the sufferings of so mant EB3 (esp) and EB2 friends. Discussion and debate are always good.
Here are a few facts:
1. Most of the advanced countries in the world - UK, Australia, NZ, Switzerland, Singapore and some Scandinavian countries offer a time based path to residency and citizenship for the educated class of people who come through the proper channel to work
2. In Canada, Australia, NZ (there could be other countries, but I am not sure) people can apply for a PR based on their OWN education and experience. They are not held hostage by their employers and harassed for ages. It is happening here because the lobbies are very powerful and are supported financially by the corporations to serve their interests. The system has been craftily designed to ensure long term indentured labour
3. In the entire scheme of things the real beneficiaries are the employers and the law firms
4. The system would be streamlined and the work of the government would become much simpler and faster. This is the way governments works in several western countries who offer a time bound programme
5. Every month our EB friends need not stare at the bulletin with great expectations and waste their time
6.Everyone can plan their future better. (I do not think I need to explain this)

You can put all these facts and the way other countries are doing the immigration process for the professionals. This may attract every one including the Government. In the mean time, we can start sending emails to the Congress men also.

If you're worried, the easiest thing to do is to have the name changed in the passport. The Consulate doesn't ask for any questions and issues the new passport within a day. For my friend, the first name and the last name were interchanged and getting the new passport was a breeze.

1.) Pre-adjudication (process I-485, send RFE etc. just short of visa number allocation)
is already prevalent in USCIS and has been since several years now.
Just google for "pre-adjudication USCIS" ...but this might just suffice:

Hi friends,
No doubt this is a great idea and also as newbie2020 suggests no point of wasting time and loosing the current tempo and massive support of IV members on this regard.
Would like to request all, is it possible to change the bridge schedule a bit to 9.00 or 9.30 PM EST so that it would be easier to participate for people who are in Pacific Time Zone? If most people have difficulty in doing that, lets move forward with the current schedule.

You are right, he kept on bluffing saying that he will apply EB2, blah blah.....it was my stupidity that I believed him and did not accept the reality. I am at the receiving end, what ever I try some where else I am hitting a brick wall. The only option for me is to get a pre approved labor and follow the whole 9 yards again. A very good analogy for some of these desi companies is they are like pimps. They market you or you market yourself and they will keep ripping you........man very frustrating......any body has similar experience. I can be contacted to share about my H1 slavery experience.

My 485 was filed at NSC and the ND is 03 Oct 2007. It was subsequently moved to TSC in Nov 2008.
So which date is it going to be: PD, ND, RD or Move date (MD) ????
As I read the thread above on the perennial point of contention PD or RD or ND.
Since I was contacting my local congressman and Senators...I got this feedback that my case is pre-adjudicated but waiting to have a visa number available....but I don't know who to trust...I am just not very hopeful and if 485 ND is the date they go by I have no chance and will miss this opportunity too.

I have a similar problem. In all my documents i just have one name as given name from childhood no surname or initials.
In passport given name is : XXX
And surname is : blank
In my H4 stamping they made it
Given name : FNU (First name unknow)
Last Name : XXX
So in my medical record and I-94, I-797 in US i use FNU XXX. I am planning to apply with this name itself as i feel it may take a while and is not safe to go to indain embassy and have a name change with this short time.
I plan to have my husbands name as my last name later.
Can i do it after filing for 485 or getting GC. Do reply.
