What pissed people off, was your tone and disgust at the poor fellow and his qualifications, especially when you know little about his ability to carry out his job, or his background. In school, or on line -- he earned those degrees. Maybe he didn't have the financial resources to attend the best schools (I don�t know what is IGNOU). His employer has retained him, so perhaps he is good at what he does. He left his home, his family and traveled to some foreign shore to earn a living, not rob a bank. Show some respect. Now the country limit rule applies only to EB3-I and EB3-C.
Since EB2-ROW is always current, all the spillover goes to EB3-I/C and so they are not affected by per country limit rule.
EB3-I is the only sufferring category. Guys, we have to do something. Any suggestions on how to voice our concerns?

1. Every week members donate any amount they like over paypal
2. At the end of the week one of them is selected and refunded 2 times his contribution amount
3. To make things interesting and ensure the scheme "helps" and not "hurts" IV: Change the selection process every once in a while e.g. One week you select the user who has donated an "average" amount, but next week you select the "highest" donor, in the 3rd week you select the "5th" name in the donor's list irrespective of his amount, and so on.
e.g.
consider the following players/amounts in a given week:
user1: $20
user2: $100
user3: $10
user4: $45
user5: $25
user6: $50
user7: $25
user8: $5
user9: $10
user10: $100
________
Total: $390
Divide by 10 users: $39
This week's selection process: Select the "average" donor.
Who donated an amount closest to the average? : user4 ($45)
Therefore, refund user4 for $90
What IV received in the process: $390- $90 = $300

This is pure speculation on my part, but if CIS is returning visa numbers and there are now some visas available, it seems like it would make more sense for DOS to just make the returned visas available in the August bulletin, rather than flip flop on July once again.
I think that is what they will do in order not to look like fools.
the question is, What happens to those july filers whose applications have not been returned yet and who will become current in the next bulletin.
Will USCIS ask them for the new fees.... Will they have to do all paperwork again including medicals.....what a mess!

As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

I am 2007 PD EB3. I know i am screwed :-) , but our discussing out unfortunate luck here , wont change it.
I am not even dreaming about my GC. I am just enjoying my life today, as i have no control over tomorrow. The irony , i was qulaified for EB2, but my lawyer didnt want to do an extra work(BS + 7 Years) , so he put me in EB3.
Let EB2 get there GC's first , and may be the illegals also get it before EB3, I really dont know the point of discussion of this thread.
Thank God somebody didnt write , thats its really unfortunate that we were born in India.

EB-3 India is last in the line so first EB-2 (WW) than EB-2 India/china/mexico, then EB-3 (WW) then EB-3 India/China/Mexico... basically my common sense tells me EB-3 India will get a big 'ZERO'....

My H1B going to expire Jan 2008. I am not planning to renew it. My PD is current (india-eb2 2004 jan). I am planning to travel in March 2008. Do I can travel with AP, without valid H1B papers. ? Do I need to renew my H1B ?

You should have AP approved to travel in / out of USA, and valid EAD to work after your H1B expires (though you continue to work for the same employer). It is recommended to keep H1 status as long as you can, just in case anything happens to AOS - Again, it is a personal choice to renew H1B. I dont forsee any exit/reentry problem due to not renewing H1B. Good luck!

With the attitude towards immigration in this country, i really doubt this bill will pass :(, i really hope it does though, i think the USICS is a strong believer of "sabar ka phal meeta hota hai", translated, the fruit of a long wait is sweet, i just hope the wait is not too long and the fruit rotten

However, the congress returns in September and IV Core will update us on the situation. There is still no reason to believe that this is bill is completely dead, so keep checking IV site and when there is an update from Core, put in your effort AND get your friends involved too.
You can actually start getting your friends in similar situation involved right now. Get them registered and get them to read up on IV in general. The only way we can get any reform is by numbers. I hope you have already joined your state chapter and look forward to your continued presence and contribution to IV.
