I have tried to put my career goals ahead of the dollar conversion rate (not always easy). Because i took up new roles and salary , i have had to restart the GC process a couple of times. As a result i am still without GC despite being here for more than 10 years and having two masters degrees from US. I am sure this is a common story here.
I am heading towards a another change and now have very little patience for restarting the process. I am glad many people on this forum have volunteered to help pack. I will be getting in touch with you in a few months.
That there are frustrated people with opportunities outside the US, and they will leave. This is a great example. However this is still a silly poll. It does not ask questions that will bring that out. It talks about leaving to prove something to someone. People did not come here to prove things to the US and will not leave for that reason.

MBA is not about just learning or knowledge. (atleast that's what I saw in the business school). If you really want to know about finance, strategy or economic courses, it is already available in Sloan open courseware website. MBA is about networking and meeting the right people (even if you dont know anything) who can provide leads and opportunities in future. It also helps if it is from a top university with great alumni. I did go to a top 15 school flextime. Did it really help me ? Personally No. But it did provided me with a foot in the door for many opportunities. If you are H1B not looking to get a GC then I would risk it and go for full time. If you have a greencard, then I would risk it again and go for full time. But if you are in the middle of the process and want MBA to help your future growth and if you are planning to do part time, it is a long shot. Most of the part time programs don't really care about their students with respect to career opportunities and they all cater towards full timers. (Those are the statistics that is widely published in the news) It is a cash cow for the university. So the only odd man out is entreprenuership. If you are lucky you will be make it with the first company. But serial entreprenuers will eventually succeed in the long term. My advise is to go for a full time program with a top 15 school, I wish I should have done in top 5. Again there are lucky ones who can make it big even with a lower school, but the odds are slim.

Looks like they are going to use the unused EB visa numbers for FB.To me, this is family reunification bill and most likely will not have any benefit for us.
I think we need to study the bill in detail before we jump to any conclusions.
From reading the summary in the AILA website, specifically the below :
The legislation would reinforce our commitment to families and reduce current wait times in the family immigration system by:
�Recapturing an estimated 400,000 family-sponsored and employment-based visas that went unused between 1992 and 2007.
Atleast to me it seems like the bill plans on using all the unused visas from the past years and apply that towards the family quota. Not sure if that would help the EB cause.
Inputs anyone?

Yes--Universties--come under non-profit as per INS, hence exempted from quota, but not Elem/Middle/High schools.
I got my H1B from a University starting Aug. As far as I understand, there is no H1B quota for non-profit. I also have a US degree. There is a separate H1B quota for US educated.
I don't know where I was plugged in. I don't remember any details.

I was also unable to find a state chapter just a few months back. So I started one. Now we have around 60 members. Someone needs to take the initiative and set the ball rolling. That someone can be you.

No, EB3 ROW can use all the available EB3 ROW numbers. But the unused EB2 (ROW/Mex/Phil) have been distributed to the oversubscribed countries.
That's how I interpret that.
The popular belief was that the unused EB2 ROW would first go EB3 ROW but according to this they actually go to the oversubscribed countries in the same category (EB2)
does this mean that EB3 ROW can't use all available visa for 3rd qtr that is why there were visas available for India EB2 (hence the established cutoff date of Dec 2003). but this should only happen if EB3 ROW is current but it is not.

As a result, numbers have once again become available to the India Employment Second preference category. What we are seeing and hearing in congress is the overwhelming ignorance and lack of understanding of the contributions made by H1B and GC aspirants to the US economy. There is the wise saying that "Everything happens for a good reason". We have been trying so hard for last 2-3 years to make these politicians realize and to make corporate America realize that they need to do something about our problems because of our value proposition. Apparently all these calls have only backfired and caused the anti-immigrationists to lobby even harder and pull the strings of politicians to make them do as they please. Whether we like it or not, unless the raw brunt of a mass exodus of educated work force is not felt by this country, there is no way for them to understand how wrong they are. EB category has never had loyal support. All of the corporate america support has rested on the need for H1B. We have been abused by this system and forced to feel that we have abused this system. I think we have been told in a million ways by now that we need to find a Plan B. I feel bad yet no remorse for the thousands of H1Bs who do nothing to support the cause of organizations like IV. As someone once said, most of them are very laid back and will not worry about the problems untill someone tells them to buy their return tickets back home. We are very happy with eating samosa and tea and do not have the perspective to realize what threats lie on the horizon. I say this based on actual conversations with some of these people who literally scoff at me and think I am off my rocker when I discuss the repurcussions of no reforms. Like the prehistoric animals who did nothing to adapt in the full view of changing environmental conditions, these laid back folks will realize only too late.
