Senior guys, if you don't like a thread, ignore it, the thread may be of interest to some people on the forum. So let those people talk. Also since nothing is happening on the immigration, what else public will do other than 'Time pass'???
I am assuming that you have gone to school and taken some exams/tests. Did you study during your exams/tests or did you study and prepare before your tests?
After doing all this "very important" discussion about Rs/$ conversion, if you get sometime, please read some news about immigration bill to find out that there is lot of activity going on with the immigration bill. Most of the time anti-immigrats are calling and putting pressure on lawmakers who support any sort of immigration bill. That is why McCain, Brownback and many others backed out. Anti-immigrants are working overytime making it look like as if their opinion is the opinion of the entire nation. Each person is making 20-30 phone calls a week. But it is ok if none of us is doing anything. Lets all "time pass" and have this very important discussion about Rs/$ eachange rate variation... right?
Communities/groups/societies who do not understand the need to organize and standup for themselves always perish. Durbin-Grassley bill is just the beginning of the time for this high skilled immigrant community to disappear. Reason - When any group of people increases in number there is always another group which becomes its natural opponent/adversary. This community of over a million people also have very powerful opponent/adversary. That opponent is gaining strength and working overtime to purge all of us. But that is ok, let us talk about Rs/$ conversion rate. Anybody here from Uruguay or Morocco??? Why don’t people from Uruguay or Morocco and all other countries of the world join us in this VERY VERY important discussion about the recent exchange rate variation of Indian Rs/$. Such an important subject to be all hashed out on IV forums. Good, keep it up….. But don’t forget to check the mail box, maybe that unopened letter contains your green card.

You are right. Things aren't moving fast enough because there is a general lack of participation from the otherwise intelligent EB immigrant community.
Even if 20%-30% were really proactive in supporting IV, things would have moved much faster.
We need to develop really intelligent strategies considering all the factors. Just throwing out ideas and organizing rallys may not be enough (although needed).
There are a lot of intelligent people on this forum. I think we need to work on our unity, commitment and implementing of strategies.
IV is already doing lot of these but does not seem to be working fast and effective enough.

Situation : Travel in Oct for school(MBA)
Applied online : 21 July 2010
Center: TSC
No updates till sept 14th.
Got cencerned and on sept 14th called TSC created SR for non receipt of biometric appointment letter.(Only legal reason to complain as application is still under 90 days of application)
LUD on Sept 20th.
Called sept 27th afternoon again and told that notice as to how the SR will be processed. The processing time for SR was mentioned to be 60 days.:eek: Created an expedite request reason citing "sever financial loss to individual".

In short WTF?:mad: ... but eventually :D till next year around.

Hi Guys,
I am a July - 2007 filer and we got the FP request in July for me and my Spouse, I have not applied for any EAD or AP extensions recentlly, for a side note i have to travel out side US in July and my attorney requested for FP reschedule (which was actually scheduled in last week July) for atleast 6 to 8 weeks, but USCIS sent me the request with in a week with an FP date just 3 weeks apart from the original one..so i had to rush my things and had to come back to US to get the FP done..

No I did not forget the pain of that LC. And I'll never forget that in my life either. All that I said was we should prioritize our issues. If everybody says PBEC issue is the once that should get more focus, I've no problem with that
either.
All that I was trying to say is that now is the time to take care of retrogression. If we miss this chance
we may have to wait a long time. We will get more time to work on BECs down the lane. And nobody is
seeing BEC issue a non serious one. Everybody understands it.

You just had diploma and filed in EB2 to get GC fast. I think you took unnecessary risk of filing in EB2. It was sad that no one advised you at that time. If you would have filed in EB3 then CIS would not have asked much questions and approve I140 and I485. Anyhow you still have chance to fight and win but by the time you get GC you may lose lot of sleep. Probably it is worth to wait more EB3 than getting so much stress in EB2.

All,
My wife and I applied for EAD together almost 110 days back. My EAD came through within 60 days but no signs of any progress on my wife's EAD.
Are more of you facing the same issue? We called USCIS and the officer expected another 3-4 month delay.
What are our Options? I thought USCIS had a commitment to send out EADs within 90 days! Any idea why the interim EAD thing was dropped? Any exceptions under which they actually give interim EADs?

here's my explanation why i think retrogression will get worse -
1) USCIS still has not entered all the july and aug. filers. USCIS will have a good idea by Oct or Nov. how many applications are in the pipeline, how many they can approve and what the PD cut off date needs to be?
2) with the number of applications that were filed this it is obvious that ROW will see retrogression in both EB2 and EB3 categories.
And, would you mind explaining why would ROW get affected? If they were current all along, all the ROW candidates must have already filed, even before july fiasco, right? So, just exactly how do they get affected?
Sorry for the outburst, but I sometimes get tired of people just throwing out speculations :eek: as if they are stating facts. So, back up your statement with logic.

Hi,
I am also in the same boat and waiting for the approval as I have recently took a new job with EAD. Yesterday I called USCIS to check what the options are if I don't get my EAD in 90 days. The customer service representative told me to take an info appointment further to get the Interim EAD. I have explained him that local offices are not giving Interim EADs and surprisingly he told me the following thing.
"You can continue the work with I765 receipt notice provided your employer is OK to continue and told me to provide the receipt notice to the employer as a proof of your application is in pending. As I am surely aware of the fact that in order to continue the work we must have an approved physical EAD. I was totally surprised and asked him "Are you sure?? can we continue the work with the receipt??", he replied "Yes and only if your employer agrees for that!"
I have no clue???? What to do, friends please share your thoughts on this.
Hope you noted the officers's ID number. if not, call again and see if you can get similar reply with some other officer. If you get the reply, try to get it in writing and also get the officers ID number, note the date and time.

If we need to facilitate our provisions, this is what we need to do rather than sending any email or calls. They will have 0% effect at this time. Infact anyone sending emails from a junk email ID without revealing their name, phone number and home address in the email is wasting their energy and hurting themselves and others in this community. Lawmakers want to hear from their constituents and you need to be a real person. An office should be able to contact you and know you have a legitimate concern in their constituency. You should urge others not to undertake such misguided attempts of spamming lawmaker offices and follow a proper process instead. Ask people on other websites who are sending random emails to come to IV and join our advocacy effort. We will help them reach out to their lawmaker offices so that they can go and meet these offices to convey their pain and suffering themselves.
