Generally there are lots of people getting affected. But there is no one to lead the fight. I am sure once we start people will come and join. I am in the process of contacting the attorneys and consulting companies to fight together. I am also hoping for IV core to come forward and give us direction on this. I am ready to lead and fight. Good post I like it and I probably may follow most of these eventually but, if I think about it, it seems to me lot of stress. Maintaining records from past ten (GC)/fifteen (Citizenship) years is certainly a stressful activity. Except education certificates I never cared for anything in my home country. In spite of taking care of all this, if you get involved in an unfortunate event everything GC/Citizenship goes into vain and back to square one.
I am not trying to discourage or depress any one. It�s just a thought.

We are getting started out as a new thread towards this administrative costs.
As a couple of members mentioned that the core will not take any money from the funds members contributed, and its is really unfortunate that Aman + all the core team have to spend a lot of money out of their pocket. I am not a CPA but have seen that a lot of NOP do set aside administrative funds. That how the organization would work. The good ones will have only 10% of funds towards administrative cost. The BEST ONE LIKE IV has NONE (No money for administrative cost!!!). I am sure the core will not want to dive into the funds people are giving BUT can members send money seperately to set up an administrative fund.
I like khodalmd idea, I know not everyone is going to chip in, but if we have atleat 1000 people we can all send $100, so that atleast the core team dont take on the financial burden of the entire community. People sent flowers, a lot of people sent flowers...I am sure atleat 1000 appreciative members can shell out $100 for IV.
I am game for the $100 suggested by anzerraja (I think)

Using all these new services like Rapid Transfer, M2I, TimesMoney is stupid. I am not sure someone in India really needs your money the next day. It is best to use a RUPEE DRAFT to send money. This way you know right there and there what rate you receive.
ICICI cannot be blamed for your 35 paise loss. They clearly state that there could be delays in wire transfer. Sending thru them, you agree that the conversion rate used will be the one avaiable on the day it reaches the destination. The bank cannot be blamed for this.
Again, use a rupee draft and pay $20 extra to send by USPS Global Express.

Think before you type. The core team mentions $$ and ground work. Most are not interested in doing anything besides reading these forums. Realize the enormity of the task, the efforts required, then look in the mirror and ask yourself what you did besides BS'ing

I read about your intense desire for GC and was thinking to myself... is GC something that someone has to be so very obsessed about? At the time of opening SR, I was told to wait for 45 days.. other CSR told me to wait for 30 days.. and I see you have been told to wait for 60 days...

i have an infopass scheduled for 25th... really hoping to get an approval before that..

What some people forget on this forum is there was a guy not too long who was dying in six months and I am sure most of our situations are not so dire. Look we all will get GC, we are AOS pending it is a matter of a year here and a year there. But please do not fight like this, we are a community. We were one group before these VBs and now we fight amongst ourselves. It amazes me how the gora man is still able to divide and rule. Chill and relax....go watch olympics.

For those who care to read...the fact that I am suggesting that people should port their priority dates before that door closes shows that I believe that people who have played by the rules (ie actually put in the 5 yrs experience or find a job with EB2 requirements) should get preference !!
I call this the plight of EB2 india because as the rules are set up, in theory, if majority of EB3 ported priority dates, then yes, EB2 with later dates would truly get the short end of the stick.
Having said that, the backlash against people like SunnySurya is unfair. From his perspective, he is right and the law grants him the right to sue if he feels so.
THe problem in these forums is that any mature discussion is not possible because any dissenting voice is soon suppressed with ad hominem attacks such as the gentlemen who wanted to buy me tickets to india.

I support this idea to have a funding drive to help Aman recover his financial losses. We can never thank enough for the time and effort that was put in. Its a pain we need to share. Celebrating and saying thanks to IV is nice. But contribution is only way to say thanks. Think about it if we had to file with new filing fee, we would have paid 3 times what we paid now. Its amazing and we are fortunate to have people like Aman, logiclife and other IV core have such selfless and sacrificing nature.

Do we have an estimate for break even for investment into monthly payments?
